Location: Remote (US-based preferred) Commitment: Part-time volunteer, flexible hours Duration: 3–6 months (with potential to continue into national rollout) About Us 4-Humans.org is a San Diego–Diego-based California public benefit charity dedicated to ending human trafficking through prevention, advocacy, rescue, and survivor empowerment. We believe in using the power of storytelling to drive awareness, action, and lasting change. We are launching the United States’ first comprehensive certification program dedicated to helping hotels, motels, and short-term rentals combat human trafficking. This initiative sets new industry standards for training, accountability, and prevention — ensuring that every certified property is actively protecting guests, staff, and vulnerable individuals. As we prepare for our pilot launch, we’re seeking a Business Development Specialist to help build partnerships and secure endorsements from law enforcement agencies, hospitality groups, hotel chains, and advocacy organizations. Your work will directly shape how this certification is adopted and trusted across the country. The Role The Volunteer Business Development Specialist will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and developing strategic relationships with key stakeholders across the hospitality, law enforcement, and non-profit sectors. You’ll play a central role in expanding the program’s reach and establishing the partnerships that give our certification credibility and national traction. Responsibilities Research and identify potential strategic partners (law enforcement bodies, hotel chains, tourism boards, non-profits, etc.) Build and manage relationships with decision-makers and partner organizations Assist in developing outreach materials, presentations, and partnership proposals Support the creation of a partnership framework for pilot participants and endorsers Coordinate calls, meetings, and follow-ups to move discussions toward collaboration or endorsement Work closely with the marketing and leadership teams to align outreach with brand strategy and public messaging Ideal Candidate Strong background or interest in business development, partnerships, fundraising, or stakeholder engagement Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Strategic thinker with the ability to identify mutual value and align incentives Comfortable reaching out to senior contacts and institutional stakeholders Self-motivated, reliable, and passionate about social impact, human rights, or ethical business practices Bonus: Experience in hospitality, government relations, or corporate social responsibility (CSR) What You’ll Gain A leading role in launching a nationally significant initiative within the hospitality and anti-trafficking sectors Hands-on experience in business development, partnership building, and strategic outreach Opportunities to network with leaders in law enforcement, hospitality, and non-profit sectors A meaningful way to use your professional skills to create tangible social change You will have the support of our admin, social media, and marketing team throughout this process to make sure its a success.
