About The Opportunity The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in ensuring reliable and efficient operation of production equipment. Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving equipment issues, completing repairs, and executing preventive maintenance programs. This position supports safe, high-quality production by following established corporate maintenance, safety, and performance standards. Hours: Core hours are 7am-3:30pm, M-F. Maintenance regularly comes early and stays late (usually 6am-4pm) to ensure all equipment is running and shut down properly. Some overtime will be required to meet the needs of the business, including some Saturday work for preventative maintenance. Pay: Starting pay for this role is $26.50 - $29.00/hour, based on experience. Essential Job Functions The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties; however, it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned. Demonstrates a commitment to quality by performing all duties in adherence to GMP guidelines. Ensures proper operation of machinery and equipment by completing required preventive maintenance. Troubleshoots mechanical issues and performs corrective actions to maintain productivity and quality standards. Minimizes downtime by communicating effectively with all relevant departments. Assists with the setup and teardown of production lines as needed. Performs electrical repairs in accordance with safety standards and skill level. Actively participates in Continuous Improvement programs and initiatives. Determines necessary dimensional adjustments to parts; fabricates or modifies components as required and adjusts functional parts or control instruments. Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventory. Provides guidance and instruction to less experienced personnel. Identifies and implements appropriate preventive maintenance schedules. Prepares maintenance reports and documents actions taken, irregularities observed, and ongoing needs. Works safely and efficiently, using all required personal protective equipment and adhering to company safety policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned by management or supervisors. Education & Experience Minimum of 2 years of previous industrial maintenance experience required Experience working with packaging equipment is strongly preferred Including: belt conveyors, roller conveyors, carton sealers, high speed packaging equipment. Basic low voltage (120VAC) electrical knowledge is required Knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems (208/480V 3-phase) is a plus. PLC Knowledge and troubleshooting skills is preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities This is a safety-sensitive position requiring the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and perform duties safely at all times. Ability to work overtime, weekends, extended hours, and adjust to schedule changes based on business needs. Ability to work effectively in team environments and collaborate across a wide range of roles. Ability to work safely in a production environment with moving equipment, machinery, and personnel. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Basic math, reading, and comprehension skills required. Ability to read, interpret, and when necessary complete: blueprints, electrical schematics, operating and maintenance manuals, work orders, repair parts requests, and both standard and metric measurements. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. Ability to work under pressure and adapt to rapid changeovers or shifting priorities. Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings with technical accuracy. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, walk for prolonged periods Must be able to use hands, fingers, and arms in a continuous manner Must be able to frequently lift 50-75 lbs.
