Platform Controller

Position OverviewThe Dealership Platform Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of multiple dealership platforms, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and strong internal controls. This role partners closely with dealership leadership, accounting teams, and corporate management to support financial integrity, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making.This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a controller with automotive dealership experience and a strong understanding of multi-store operations. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily accounting operations across assigned dealership platforms Ensure accurate and timely financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual) Manage and review general ledger activity, reconciliations, and journal entries Supervise and support dealership accounting staff (AP, AR, payroll, title clerks, etc.) Maintain compliance with GAAP, manufacturer requirements, and internal policies Oversee month-end and year-end close processes Review and analyze financial performance, trends, and variances Partner with dealership leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and profitability Ensure proper accounting of inventory, flooring, and vehicle deals Coordinate audits and respond to auditor requests Monitor internal controls and recommend process improvements Ensure timely and accurate submission of manufacturer statements and schedules Qualifications 5+ years of dealership accounting experience Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager Strong understanding of dealership financial statements and processes Experience with dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, etc.) Advanced knowledge of Excel and financial reporting tools Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
