Maintenance Mechanic

Maintenance Mechanic (2nd Shift) Corunna, MI Michigan Brick, a subsidiary of General Shale Brick, North America's largest manufacturer of clay brick and masonry materials, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our Corunna, Michigan manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for a self-motivated maintenance professional who thrives in an industrial environment and is committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. This is a 2nd shift position supporting plant operations and production equipment. Position Overview: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing repairs, preventative maintenance, and equipment improvements to ensure uninterrupted production. This role works closely with Production and Maintenance teams to support plant operations and improve equipment reliability and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Perform repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance on plant equipment Respond promptly to priority maintenance requests to support production needs Complete assigned work orders with minimal supervision when required Repair equipment and fabricate parts as needed Maintain and improve machinery durability and process efficiency Participate in company health, safety, housekeeping, and environmental programs Support a zero-harm workplace culture throughout the facility Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required Millwright certification preferred Welding certification preferred Ability to obtain forklift certification Experience and Skills: Five (5) years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of mechanical conveying systems Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated teamwork and leadership abilities Commitment to safety, health, and quality standards Willingness to work occasional overtime as needed Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, twisting, and crawling Occasional lifting, pushing, reaching, and grasping Use of arms, hands, legs, and feet required Must be able to meet hearing and vision requirements for a manufacturing environment Dependable attendance and punctuality required What We Offer: Comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Life Insurance, and Vacation plans Stable employment with a leading manufacturer in the masonry industry Team-oriented, safety-focused work environment General Shale is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
