Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician Pay Rate: $30/hr Location: Conroe, TX 77303 Schedule: 12 hours shift (6AM to 6:30 PM and 6PM to 6:30AM), rotates between day shift & night shift every 30 days Description: The Maintenance Technician troubleshoots, repairs and performs preventative maintenance on the automated production machinery. This requires expertise in electrical and mechanical systems, including motors, pumps, conveyors, rewinders, packaging equipment, to ensure equipment runs reliably and minimizes downtime. Performs repairs and troubleshoots, installs, dismantles, and repairs machinery and equipment to improved reliability and uptime. Responsibilities and Duties Daily Responsibilities Ability to assist machine operators troubleshoot failed equipment, quality check, packaged product at various critical check points to assist with diagnosing, adjusting or make repairs to machinery as needed. Perform preventative maintenance by conducting regular inspections and performing planned maintenance on machines to prevent breakdowns. Identify and prioritize maintenance needs of the production line based on mechanical assessment of failure. Review manufacturing lines and production output to assist operator in equipment adjustments to support maximum optimal efficiency. Ability to troubleshoot and repair roller and belt systems. Can perform work on conveyors, pumps, motors, liquid tank systems, piping, compressed air systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Troubleshoot wrappers, inkjet machines. Can diagnose and troubleshoot forklift problems and perform repairs as necessary. Reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical schematics. Reading and interpreting hydraulic and pneumatic schematics. Follows Safety and Operations Procedures. Work order management: Tracking maintenance activities using computerize maintenance management systems (CMMS). Communications: Communicates with supervisors and operators to identify maintenance issues and repair needs Effectively communicates with other members of team and line. Customer Service/Quality: Maintain company's high standards of customer service by providing quality and timely repairs and maintenance of equipment Performs frequent machine inspections at various critical points of machine lines Controls costs of repairs by proactive inspections of equipment Technical: Ability to repair both electrical and mechanical systems in accordance with mechanical and electrical drawings, operations manual, and manufacturers specifications Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues. Ability to troubleshoot conveyors and set ups. Experience with packaging and palletizing equipment. Safety: Ability to follow company safety policies and use safety devices as required Keeping machine and surrounding area clean and orderly Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent Prefer additional technical, electrical, and/or mechanical machine repair 5 years of previous manufacturing maintenance machine repair required. 1-2 years experience with PLCs such as Allen Bradley, and HMI or equivalent preferred. Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, in hot or cold conditions. Ability to work any shift, on-call, holidays, weekends and overtime as needed Licensing / Certification: Mechanical, HVAC Training a Plus Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $30.00 - $30.00 Per Hour
