DevOps Engineer/Systems Administrator The DevOps Engineer / Systems Administrator (CKA required) designs, deploys, and maintains physical, virtual, and containerized environments to ensure secure, reliable system performance. The role supports infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, Linux administration, and engineering tooling, solving complex challenges independently while coordinating with senior technical staff when needed. The company is located in Reston, VA and will be 5 days onsite a week.What You Will Be Doing: Architect, deploy, and maintain physical, virtual, and containerized infrastructure Build automation for configuration management, integration, testing, and deployment Develop and operate CI/CD pipelines supporting repeatable and reliable releases Stand up fully automated build, test, deploy, and upgrade environments for disconnected networks Manage and support core development infrastructure including build servers, artifact repos, and collaboration tools Administer Linux systems with emphasis on Ubuntu and RHEL Operate enterprise container environments such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, and EKS Manage virtualization platforms including VMware and Proxmox Create documentation for designs, environments, builds, and operational procedures Mentor teammates and share best practices around automation, containerization, and DevOps workflows Deliver technical briefings to internal and external stakeholders Required Skills & Experience: Hands-on experience with Docker and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm) Experience with OpenShift or AWS EKS preferred Proficiency with CI/CD platforms (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform required) Deploys and supports software systems spanning web, middleware, and database layers Strong Linux administration skills (RHEL preferred) Experience designing and deploying physical infrastructure (server installation, rack/stack) Familiarity administering developer toolchains: Jira, Confluence, Git, Slack, etc. Able to communicate clearly in writing, presentations, and documentation Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or related discipline - OR 8+ years of equivalent professional experience Minimum 4 years in systems engineering, DevOps, or systems administration Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) - Required Experience with automated testing for web and microservices architectures Experience with AWS or Azure (AWS EKS strongly preferred) Experience with virtualization and automation tools (VMware, Proxmox, Vagrant, Puppet, etc.) Familiarity supporting developer platforms (Jira, TFS, GitHub, Slack) Cybersecurity exposure a plus Willingness to travel internationally as needed Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis now and in the future.
