Position Summary Department: LMH Inpatient Rehab Svs Status: PRN / Pool Title: Physical Therapist | PT Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per month (about 2-3 shifts monthly, with shifts typically lasting 8-10 hours). Must cover at least one weekend shift per month, as well as one major and one minor holiday each year (this may include a weekend shift around the holiday). Preferred availability on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, but open to other days as needed. Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital is a new 124-bed acute-care hospital - with room to grow to 240 beds, located in Seminole County, Florida. The facility offers a full complement of services, including inpatient & outpatient rehabilitation services, cardiovascular care, including 3 cath labs, emergency care, general surgery, orthopedics, and obstetrics, childbirth, postpartum care, and a future NICU. Our programs encompass both inpatient and outpatient care The inpatient Acute Care Therapy offers unit-based specialized therapists for Oncology/Lymphedema, Neurological Conditions, Stroke, Orthopedics, Limb Loss, Multiple Traumas, and more! Outpatient services are treated at our outpatient clinic located in Longwood, FL Responsibilities Position Summary Works with patients who have impairments, limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes. The Physical Therapist role includes examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis and interventions toward achieving the highest functional outcomes for each patient or client. Essential Functions • Evaluates patients, gathering data from the patient, the physician, interdisciplinary team meetings if available, family and significant other persons and data sources. • Develops treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives and treats accordingly. • Demonstrates competency in the use, care and maintenance of profession specific equipment, observing safety precautions and providing verbal explanations of the equipment and its purpose. • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to treat and provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned caseload. • Re-evaluates and modifies treatment plan and goals when appropriate. • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. • Assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs. • Provides care as described in the unit's/area's/department's policies and procedures. • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her practicing location (s).Recognizes and communicates when the patient has received optimal benefit from physical therapy. • Adheres to State Practice Act and Standards of Practice. • Ensures complete documentation and accurate billing. • Provides patient/family education as indicated. • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures Qualifications Education/Training Bachelor's degree or higher from an approved program in physical therapy. Licensure/Certification Current Physical Therapist license in the State of Florida-renewed every two years. Must maintain CPR certification. Continuing Education as required by State Practice Act.
