TIME FRAME: SHORT TERM, SEASONAL POSITION March 20 - March 27, 2026, May 11 - May 15, 2026 (+ required training dates) Valid CDL-A driver's license required. Interviews and hiring decisions will take place in late February through March. Thank you for your patience during the review process. POSITION SUMMARY: The Move Driver is responsible for the safe operation of tractor trailers and flatbed trucks to support the movement of Festival materials between the warehouse, Fair Grounds, and designated staging locations. This position provides essential transportation support during move-in and strike periods and works closely with Transportation and Site leadership to ensure materials are delivered efficiently, securely, and on schedule. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Safely operate tractor trailers and flatbed trucks in accordance with all DOT regulations and Festival safety protocols. Transport Festival materials between: Festival warehouse, Fair Grounds Race Course, and approved staging or off-site locations. Properly secure cargo using chains, straps, binders, or other approved methods to ensure safe transportation at all times. Conduct basic vehicle inspections prior to operation and report mechanical or safety concerns immediately. Follow direction from the Transportation Coordinator and Site leadership regarding routes, schedules, and delivery priorities. REQUIREMENTS: Using the Absentee Request Form, it is the responsibility of each employee and their supervisor to accurately report their absenteeism to the HR Office. Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive issues. Must attend and complete any required training. Give any documents, truck, equipment, tools, or other intellectual property created for the Jazz Festival (and, therefore, belonging to the Jazz Festival) to the Festival through your supervisor or department head at the end of each production year, or upon request. Must complete all required Feedback Forms and Final reports. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED Valid CDL-A driver's license required. Minimum 3-5 years of experience operating tractor trailers, including flatbed configurations. Event production, construction, or large-scale logistics experience preferred. Strong understanding of load securement, safety procedures, and situational awareness. Ability to perform physically demanding work, including heavy lifting, climbing, and extended periods of driving. Endurance for long hours in a fast-paced, high-pressure outdoor production environment, including varying weather conditions. Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with supervisors, site crews, and transportation teams. Commitment to safety, reliability, and professionalism.
