Add to favorites View favorites Department: Urban Education Salary: Commensurate with Experience/Education Description: The University of Houston-Downtown Department of Urban Education is seeking applications for adjunct Field Experience Instructors. This is a part-time position with a 3-credit hour teaching load per regular semester with students in the SAIS-Interdisciplinary Studies degree program (a 6-hour course load may be possible). The candidate is expected to participate in the department's field-based program supervising the fieldwork component for students in various certification programs (EC-6, 4-8, and 7-12). Candidates must have flexible daytime availability to conduct field-based observations. Duties Establishes and maintains relationships with campus personnel in local independent school districts partnering with the department Teaches face-to-face meetings in support of fieldwork in which students are engaged Provides online support to students engaged in fieldwork experiences Observes students teaching lessons on a partner campus and provide verbal and written feedback Observes students teaching lessons during normal school hours Qualifications Holds a current valid Texas Educator certification Minimum of an earned Master's Degree Candidate is expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders Preferred Qualifications A current Texas Mid-Management or Principal's Certificate Administration experience in public schools Provides online support to students engaged in fieldwork experiences Observes students teaching lessons on a partner campus and provide verbal and written feedback Be available to observe students teaching lessons during normal school hours All positions at the University of Houston-System are security sensitive and will require a criminal history check.
