The Operating Room Nurse Manager is a highly visible nursing leadership role where clinical expertise, operational strategy, and patient-centered care come together. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced perioperative nurse leader to guide a high-acuity, fast-paced operating room with a Level I adult and pediatric trauma and surgical center. This role is ideal for a confident leader who thrives in complexity while maintaining a consistent day-shift schedule. In this role, the OR Nurse Manager provides leadership oversight for a 24/7 operating room performing 17,000+ surgical cases annually across more than 25 operating suites. The department supports a wide range of surgical specialties including orthopedics, spine, neurosurgery, burns, ENT, oral-maxillofacial surgery, hand surgery, ophthalmology, plastics and reconstructive surgery, gynecology, vascular surgery, and general surgery. The OR supports both emergent trauma cases and planned surgical care for a diverse patient population. The Nurse Manager of the Operating Room is responsible for driving operational excellence and performance outcomes with direct accountability for operating room utilization, efficiency, timeliness, and turnover metrics. This leader provides direct oversight of an Assistant Nurse Manager team that supports surgical service lines, daily operations, and charge nurse functions, ensuring consistent clinical standards, strong staff engagement, and smooth patient flow across all service areas. The Operating Room Nurse Manager partners closely with surgical leadership, anesthesia, perioperative services, and interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include staffing and hiring, budget management, quality initiatives, policy development, and advancement of professional nursing practice. The OR Nurse Manager fosters a culture of collaboration, accountability, and patient safety while mentoring and developing frontline leaders.
