Overview Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Associate Vice President (AVP), Perioperative and Procedural Areas is responsible for the centralized leadership and operations of all perioperative and procedural areas at UF Health Jacksonville, including operating rooms, post-anesthesia care units, pre-operative areas, endoscopy suites, sterile processing, interventional radiology, and ambulatory surgery center. This role supports strategic planning, access strategy, operations, financial management, quality initiatives, regulatory compliance, and system integration while fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture. The AVP, Perioperative and Procedural Areas, collaborates closely with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic plans that align with the mission, vision, and values of UF Health Jacksonville across perioperative and procedural areas, utilizing data, best practices, and national benchmarks to continuously improve processes and achieve excellence in perioperative nursing and surgical services across the continuum of care. This role serves as the hospital's primary contact for perioperative and procedural areas and is responsible for monitoring their performance and ensuring that desired outcomes are achieved. Qualifications Required Education: Bachelor's degree and Master's degree. Specific course work: Bachelor's degree in Nursing and Master's degree in Nursing, Public Health, Healthcare Administration or similar field Preferred Education: DNP or PhD Required Licensure/Certifications: Licensed to practice nursing in Florida Preferred Licensure/Certifications: Certification in nursing administration (NE-BC, NEA-BC, CENP) Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) Certified Ambulatory Peri-anesthesia Nurse (CAPA) Certified Ambulatory Surgery Nurse (CNAMB) Required Experience: -Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible healthcare management, financial management, and administrative/operational experience in a healthcare setting, including a minimum of 10 years in a leadership role within hospital operations. -Experience in a leadership role at a Magnet Designated hospital and academic medical center with demonstrated success working in a matrixed management model. -Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center Preferred Experience: Experience in budget management, change management and process improvement is highly desirable. Necessary Skills: 1. Ability to hold groups responsible and accountable for performance. 2. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to facilitate large scale change. 3. Work collaboratively with and influences individuals at varying levels within the organization. 4. Must be flexible, team-oriented, and able to work independently and autonomously, a critical thinker. 5. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as the role necessitates, including performing Administrator on Duty (AOD) responsibilities. 6. Must be willing to travel amongst the different UFHJ entities. 7. Will be accountable for developing and implementing the perioperative and procedural areas business plan and achieving specified objective targets while staying within budget. 8. Significant depth of knowledge of perioperative services and the regulatory and accreditation requirements related to procedural areas.
