About the Job Job Title: CDL A Driver Location: Austin, Texas Full-time $24.25+ hourly Job description: MICA is searching for personnel that has Underground Utility experience. Class A CDL, tanker endorsement a HUGE plus. Must have Manual Truck Endorsement ( Not Restricted ). MUST HAVE VALID TEXAS DRIVERS LICENSE. Some experience operating backhoe, mini excavator, vactron, trencher. Electrical, fiber or traffic signal conduit installation. Must be local to Austin area. Position Purpose: To transport materials and/or equipment to jobsites and work as a laborer within a crew on highway construction projects. Essential Functions:Haul, operate, load and unload construction equipment. Inspect truck for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips. Operate hand and power tools of all types. Dig trenches, backfill holes, or compact earth to prepare for construction. Minimum qualifications:Hold and maintain a valid Class A Texas commercial driver's license. Must pass a Motor Vehicle Record check with minimal infractions. Willing and able to pass a physical, drug an alcohol screening. Must be able to travel and work overtime, weekends and nights as needed. Must meet the classification requirements within six months of hire. Working Conditions and Physical Demands:Work is performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Work includes heavy lifting (typically up to 50-100 lbs.) Exposure to noise, fumes, vibrations and heights.
