This role ensures residents’ physical, emotional, and social needs are met in a safe and supportive environment.What You’ll Do Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and mobility to and from meals and activitiesSupport residents with eating and drinking, including meal selection, cueing, and hands-on assistance as neededOffer snacks and hydration throughout the dayProvide redirection and de-escalation techniques for residents with cognitive impairmentsRecord and report resident eating habits and vital signs to the coordinator or charge nurseEncourage resident participation in leisure activities, social events, walking programs, or other therapeutic activitiesAssist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and death proceduresMaintain resident records accurately and in a timely mannerAdminister medications as defined by the medication procedure and physicians’ ordersMaintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residentsChange bed linens and wash residents’ laundry as neededRespond promptly to resident requests and emergencies, including those from family, visitors, or staffMonitor resident location and notify the Nurse Supervisor/PC Manager if a resident cannot be locatedFollow proper procedures during emergencies and obtain additional assistance when necessaryWork all assigned tours of dutyAbide by the organization’s code of conductPerform other related duties as assigned What We’re Looking For High school diploma or GED requiredCPR/First Aid certification requiredMedication course certification requiredMinimum of 6 hours of dementia education annuallyPrior experience caring for older adults with cognitive impairments preferredStrong communication skills, including verbal, written, and comprehensionDemonstrates respect, integrity, compassion, and excellenceCommitment to person-centered care practicesAbility to work collaboratively and maintain positive relationshipsFlexible schedule with willingness to work extra hours as needed Why You’ll Love Working at Frederick Living At Frederick Living, you’ll be part of a compassionate, purpose-driven team.
