Our goal is to harness Indeed's advanced HR Technology and machine learning to optimize job seeker and job matching. As a Software Engineer II specializing in Backend Engineering, you will play a critical role in building innovative systems that match job seekers with temporary roles. You will work closely with product managers and engineers, as well as our partner staffing agencies, to drive meaningful outcomes. Key Responsibilities Design and develop innovative ML/AI systems for effective job/jobseeker matching. Collaborate with a diverse team in an agile environment, focusing on delivering early results and iterative improvements. Participate in product discovery alongside product managers and staffing agency representatives. Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure high standards of quality and maintainability. Align technical solutions with business objectives in partnership with product managers and stakeholders. Perform exploratory data analyses to guide decision-making and optimization. Mentor team members and advocate for best practices in software engineering. Required Skills and Experience Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline. A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a software engineer with proficiency in one of the popular programming languages: Python, Java, Kotlin, C++, Go, or Rust. Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, and deploying ML-driven matching systems. Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills in a collaborative environment. Proficient in English. Experience with AWS and Terraform is desirable. Salary Information Competitive salary range: 109,000 - 204,000 USD per year depending on the location and experience.
