REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS Minimum bachelor's degree Minimum 5 Years of Experience Experience with General Ledger functions and month/year-end close and audits Strong analytical and Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel) Thorough knowledge of basic accounting principles (GAAP experience preferred) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS Ability to work collaboratively through complex scenarios Experience performing General Ledger and Project Ledger functions for a US Government contractor in Costpoint Attention to detail and critical thinking to reconcile accounts and subledgers RESPONSIBILITIES Analyze complex accounting processes, transactions and account reconciliations during the month-end accounting close cycle. Assist the General Ledger Manager and leadership team to develop, implement and maintain internal controls, policies and procedures. Assist in preparing monthly internal and external reporting deliverables including providing monthly fluctuation analysis and commentary to finance leadership team for relevant balance sheet accounts. Support the annual financial statement audit process performed by the external independent auditors. Participate in special projects, ad hoc analysis and reporting as requested by management. Identify areas for process improvements, including system enhancements. Establish and maintain strong business partnerships with key counterparts in accounting, project control, billing, payroll, FP&A and other functions.
