Job Description SummaryThe U.S. Licensing Manager, Regulatory Affairs, will lead a licensing team and manage the completion of various regulatory work scopes, including new Gen III+ and Gen IV advanced nuclear power plant licensing, operating plant reload licensing, customer plant support on GE Hitachi (GEH) / Global Nuclear Fuels (GNF) nuclear methods, and working with GEH / GNF Engineering and Regulatory Affairs teams on major projects.Job DescriptionR o l es a nd R e s p o ns i b iliti esAstheU.S. Licensing Manager, RegulatoryAffairs, youwill:• Managethelicensing of newGenIII+ andGenIV nuclear power plantlicensing projectsintheU.S. Technical knowledge in new nuclear plant design and/or licensing including knowledge of requirements under 10 CFR Part 50 and 10 CFR Part 52 Manage a team of 10+ licensing engineers and contractors direct reports to support project delivery on time with quality • ManageU.S. LicensingTechnical Leadersassignedto manage and drive the work assigned tomultipleteams oflicensing engineersand contractors within each project. Develop licensing strategies to navigate through complex technical issues and mitigate licensing risks • Coordinate and prepare Licensing Topical Reports (LTRs), including preparation of responses to customer and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) questions.• Assistinthe preparation oflicensing applicationsfornewGenIII+ andGenIV nuclear power plants,including 10CFR50 Construction Permit andOperating LicenseApplications and 10CFR52 CombinedOperating LicenseApplications.• Preparelicensingdocumentation andreportssupportingcustomer LicenseAmendment Request(LAR)applications.• Perform Technical Specificationreviewsand updates.• Review and prepareUpdated Final SafetyAnalysisReport(UFSAR)markupsandrevisionssupporting various plant andfuel changes.• Prepare and perform verificationtasksfor safety evaluations.• Support customer 10 CFR50.59reviews,including preparation of Technical Safety Evaluation Reportsandworkwithinternalteamsevaluatinglicensing status of variousfuel,methods,andmethodology changes.• Interface with customers, internal stakeholdersandregulatory personnel onregulatoryissues, andto secure applicable permissions and approvals related towork scopes. Working knowledge of Gen IV Advance Reactor systems, fuel, or operations, including Sodium Fast Reactor (SFR) technology. Experience and demonstrated effectiveness in working / communicating with NRC personnel. Experience working with industry groups (i.e., NEI and Owners Groups) on nuclear licensing matters. International licensing experience. Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to create technical reports suitable for a wide range of audiences. Effective interpersonal and facilitation skills. Ability to manage and deliver on multiple competing priorities. Process skills related to coordinating and documenting complex technical documents. Externally focused: takes action to enhance the reputation of the company / represents the company well at all opportunities. Clear thinker: communicates messages clearly and concisely with the ability to make decisions with speed and accuracy based on the best available information / ability to sift through complex information and focus on critical few priorities. This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
