Rice Elementary School Date Available: 2026-2027 School Year Salary Range: $59,084.00 - $88,147.00 REPORTS TO: Elementary School Principal JOB SUMMARY: The Elementary School Reading Specialist will work with students who are receiving learning support to provide individual and/or small group sessions based on student needs as outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). The teacher will also oversee and support student work completion, as well as collaborate with general education teachers to ensure that supports are in place as guided by student's IEPs. This position will be scheduled 8-hour work days, 189 days/year with a 30-minute duty free lunch. This position requires a PA Certification in Special Education. Prefer prior special education teaching experience. Develop, write and help implement IEPs, and hold IEP meetings Communicate regularly with parents Consult with teachers and coordinate the implementation of specially designed instruction as defined in the IEP regarding students with specific learning needs Provide direct services to students including services offered remotely through platforms such as Google classroom and zoom Assist with locating service providers for students needing related services as mandated by their IEPs; Maintain accurate and up-to-date progress monitoring data Assist with administering state testing and determine special adaptations to be included in individual student IEPs Participate in multiple PLCs Work in an inclusion setting as well as provide direct instruction to small groups of students receiving learning support Guide and support paraprofessionals Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS 1) Bachelor's Degree 2) PA Special Education Certificated 3) Ability to obtain clearances 4) Prior Special Education experience preferred EOE Applications received prior to Friday, March 20, 2026, will be given priority consideration.
