EDI is currently seeking an Industrial Hygiene Senior Project Manager. Responsibilities include inspections and abatement monitoring/oversight and air sampling. Additional tasks also include indoor air quality (IAQ)/mold investigations and remediation oversight as well as lead paint inspections and abatement oversight. Duties: Perform inspections/surveys for asbestos, mold, lead-paint, and other hazardous building materials. Serves as the primary expert in the proper assessment of workplace exposures to hazardous materials. Conducts hazard and risk assessments to determine the most appropriate means (or adequacy of existing) controls. Using standard methods carries out or oversees IH projects to assess potential exposures. Helps develop early career staff in understanding IH principles and practices. Routinely interact/communicate with project managers, abatement contractors, consultants, and client personnel. Perform oversight, documentation, and air monitoring for asbestos, mold, and lead, remediation activities. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, use a ladder, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment, including up to respiratory protection based on specific work environments of a given project site. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Will be required to attend after-working hour functions for client management and development. Travel within the greater Midwestern states and east coast states is possible to service Client and project needs. All travel will be coordinated with the VP. The noise level on the construction site is often loud. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Requirements Qualifications: AS or BS in physical sciences or industrial hygiene, safety, environmental sciences, or related science or engineering fields preferred. Understanding of HVAC systems, building mechanical systems, and building construction. Five to seven years of environmental health and safety experience, some with management experience a benefit.
