Talent Consultant Group is partnered with an inspection, overhaul, and repair company that is looking to add aManual/Conventional Machine Shop Machinist to their growing team in Jacksonville, FL. This role applies knowledge of mechanics, shop math, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures to set-up and operate a variety of machine shop tools to produce precision parts. Responsibilities: • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of math and instruments such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges. • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines. • Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machine work. • "Machines" referenced are conventional machine shop equipment. The machines include but are not limited to, engine lathes, vertical bore/turret mills & lathes, bridge port style mills and horizontal milling machines. • Measure, examine, and test completed units for defects and ensure conformance to specifications. • Read work orders and/or production schedules to determine specifications, such as material to be used, location of cutting lines, and dimension and tolerances. • Set-up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools to perform precision machining operations. • Start and run machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data. • Adjust machine speeds, feeds, and actions, according to product and material specifications. • Operate Forklifts and cranes • Use of torches, grinders and multiple power tools • Maintain a clean, safe, working environment. • Support other areas of the shop as needed. Qualifications: • High School Diploma or Equivalent. • 1-5 years' experience in a manufacturing/repair environment. • Basic machinist / mechanic tools • Ability to organize work assignments to ensure efficient operations within the area. • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner to achieve intended objective. • Ability to read and use related quality control tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, indicators, and tape measures. • Good organizational skills • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and in environments that require frequent bending, reaching, and lifting. • Basic computer skills
