Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Radiology Technician Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 03/23/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, evenings Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist - X-Ray with a minimum of 2 years of experience for a 13-week travel assignment at a Magnet®-designated academic medical center in Madison, WI. Responsibilities Work setting includes adult acute care, emergency department, ICU, pediatric acute care, bedside/portable procedures, and outpatient environments Patient population spans adult, pediatric, and critical care settings including NICU, PICU, and OR Procedures include portable chest and abdomen, C-arm, fluoroscopy studies (barium swallow, upper GI series, contrast enema), enema studies, and a full range of trauma and routine imaging across upper/lower extremity, spine, pelvis, and chest Equipment includes PACS and fluoroscopy; experience with GE, Philips, or Siemens equipment is preferred Epic EMR experience required Evening shift, 5x8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with rotating weekends Standby call and holiday assignments required as needed Travelers are the first to float and may be assigned to multiple units or locations based on staffing needs; if the primary unit no longer has need, shifts will be reassigned to another unit to complete the contract This is a Magnet®-designated academic medical center and nationally recognized teaching institution and referral center Pass/fail telemetry testing is required prior to start with strict passing criteria — candidates have two attempts to pass; failure to pass may result in contract cancellation Adult telemetry exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms (V-fib, V-tach, asystole), no incorrect answers on 3rd degree heart block questions, and an overall passing score of 80% or higher Pediatric telemetry exam covers V-fib, V-tach, asystole, and sinus bradycardia with a passing score of 80% or higher Orientation is approximately one week and is held every other week; travelers should follow the start date and time in their welcome letter as start days may vary Generally, no more than 2 weeks of time off (RTO) is approved per contract; requests exceeding 1 consecutive week may result in a contract extension Parking onsite requires a permit through UW Transportation; alternative options include bus, park & ride, and private parking Requirements Minimum of 2 years of X-Ray/Radiology Technologist experience ARRT (R) and current BLS required; BLS must be certified through the American Heart Association only State license required if applicable Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred Teaching hospital experience preferred Epic EMR experience required Proficiency with portable chest and abdomen, C-arm procedures, fluoroscopy studies, and full-body trauma and routine radiographic imaging Candidate's permanent address must be located at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted First-time travelers are not accepted for this position Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-674593.
