Description The maintenance manager oversees all maintenance functions within the plant and has a close working relationship with the plant staff and assists in the development of special department projects to improve overall efficiency and product yields. This role involves a combination of technical, supervisory, and administrative activities, plus considerable interaction with production personnel. In the absence of the Maintenance Manager, the Plant Engineer will assume all the Maintenance Manager's responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Oversight of all safety, food safety and quality, and production Direct the prompt and proper repair of all plant equipment failures throughout the maintenance personnel. Establish, equip, and maintain an adequate maintenance workshop to facilitate the most common repair and fabrication procedures. Provide technical troubleshooting support to machine operators experiencing problems with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control systems. Develop and maintain a downtime, repair, and maintenance tracking system to record and facilitate analysis of real operating costs for major pieces of equipment. Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program for all major production equipment. Develop and install various systems within the plant assigned by management. Assure proper maintenance on all major plant systems including: Ammonia refrigeration system Boiler system Sewage pumping, aeration, and sampling system. Plant air conditioning and ventilation system. Emergency power generation system. Plant instrument and service air supply system. Position RequirementsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Attention to detail and good organizational skills. Ability to adapt effectively within a continually changing and demanding environment. Knowledgeable in electromechanical equipment operations and troubleshooting. Must be able to demonstrate an ability and willingness to communicate effectively to maintain high levels of safety, quality, and efficiency. Ability to read and comprehend standard operating procedures and company guidelines to maintain regulatory compliance. Able to obtain licenses for and operate powered industrial equipment at a safe level. Knowledge of HMI (Human/Machine Interface) systems. Understanding of 120/240VAC electrical systems and low voltage DC and control wiring. Must be able to climb ladders and work from heights. Demonstrate the Qualified Individuals responsibilities for the Preventative Control - Cleaning and Sanitation Program. Education/Experience: High School Diploma and a Secondary degree in Manufacturing, Process Engineering or related field preferred. Minimum five years' experience in the maintenance field and three years' experience in dairy plant operations would be optimal. Exceptional knowledge of computer skills of schematics software, Auto-CAD, PLC software, and HMI (Humane Machine Interface) programs. Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage complex operations among multiple departments in a process environment. Exceptional leadership characteristics, communication skills, and ability to interact at senior management level.
