Job Title: Manufacturing Technology EngineerJob DescriptionThe Manufacturing Technology Engineer will provide day-to-day technical expertise for the blown film extrusion operations at the site. The engineer will take ownership of process problems, identify and implement process improvements, and lead teams and projects for longer-term growth and improvements.Responsibilities Provide technical expertise for the blown film extrusion processes at the site, including the development and execution of improvement plans for technology, capacity, reliability, throughput, quality, yields, manufacturing costs, and safety. Lead implementation of new processes and capital projects for the site. Provide basic data for capital projects and resourcing support for larger scale projects, such as scope development, commissioning, start-up, and training. Drive improvements in process and equipment standardization and documentation of design basis and process/line capability. Lead or assist in developing and documenting validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ) for food and medical applications. Provide technical leadership for the introduction of new or revised film products to the site, collaborating with R&D, sales, quality, and operations to run trials and scale-ups. Assist Operations and Maintenance with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, problem solving, and implementation of corrective actions. Respond to process issues and drive solutions to minimize impact to manufacturing. Develop, and ensure adherence to, standard operating procedures, best practices, and safety protocols. Show leadership in safety and comply with all EH&S regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines. Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor. Essential Skills Experience in blown film extrusion is ideal, but not required. Ability to lead capital projects. Focus on continuous improvement, equipment standardization, and documentation. Assistance with R&D scale-ups, maintenance troubleshooting, and root cause analysis. B.S. Degree in an engineering discipline, including Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial engineering. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a process/production environment; blown film extrusion or plastics processing experience is a plus. Experience with continuous improvement, capital projects, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans. Additional Skills & Qualifications Six Sigma and LEAN training and experience executing projects using these methodologies. Experience with process automation and control including PLCs and other process instrumentation and data historians. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Experience using data to drive improvements in OEE, capacity release, cycle time, yield, cost, and quality. Application of FMEA to identify potential failures and implement improvements to minimize risk. Application of technical knowledge and RCA to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve equipment, process, and quality issues. Work EnvironmentThe role requires a strong presence on the shop floor and involves working closely with various departments to ensure process and product quality. A focus on safety and adherence to EH&S regulations is crucial.
