Relocation Assistance: Available based on distance Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) - Infection Control for a full-time opportunity in Goodyear, Arizona. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive infection prevention and control program within an acute care environment. Position Overview The Infection Control RN is a clinical professional specializing in infection prevention, surveillance, reporting, and regulatory compliance. This position collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to reduce healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), ensure adherence to infection prevention standards, and support a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities Detect, monitor, analyze, and report hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) Investigate infection trends, clusters, and threshold variances; recommend corrective actions Develop and present infection control reports to leadership, medical staff, and committees Implement infection prevention initiatives in alignment with regulatory and accreditation standards Coordinate infection control education for new hires and annual staff training Serve as a subject matter expert for infection prevention practices Assist with employee health exposure investigations and illness tracking Maintain required documentation for regulatory and workers' compensation reporting Monitor compliance with infection control policies and procedures Stay current on infection prevention guidelines, epidemiology trends, and employee health practices Minimum Qualifications (Hard Requirements) Active Arizona RN license (Required) Relocation candidates must obtain Arizona RN licensure prior to start LVN/LPN candidates will not be considered Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or related health science program 3-5 years of clinical experience in an acute care facility Current CPR certification National Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or ability to obtain within 2 years of hire Must be licensed, certified, or registered in accordance with Arizona state regulations Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing or related health science 5+ years of acute care nursing experience 1-2 years of infection control or epidemiology experience Required Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of infection prevention standards and healthcare-associated infection surveillance Ability to analyze and interpret infection control and epidemiological data Familiarity with regulatory compliance and accreditation requirements Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams Benefits Overview Comprehensive benefits package may include: Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) with employer match Generous paid time off Continuing education and career development support Health savings accounts (HSA) and flexible spending accounts (FSA) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Voluntary benefits (pet insurance, legal coverage, accident insurance, and more) Benefits eligibility may vary based on employment status and location.
