This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will serve as a key liaison between HR and Finance, ensuring data integrity, audit readiness, and seamless payroll operations in a multi-state environment. Key Responsibilities Administer and process biweekly payroll through Workday Payroll, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and U.S. tax and labor laws Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, garnishments, and deductions Review and validate time, attendance, and leave data prior to payroll submission Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax withholding, wage, and hour regulations Reconcile payroll data and general ledger accounts; identify and resolve discrepancies Manage year-end reporting, including W-2s and required filings Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll inquiries and resolve issues professionally and efficiently Collaborate with HR, Benefits, and Finance to ensure alignment between payroll, compensation, and benefits deductions Reconcile payroll registers with 401(k) contribution files, upload and verify vendor portal data, process payroll-related wires, and maintain audit documentation Support internal and external audits by preparing required payroll documentation Participate in Workday system updates, configuration testing, and troubleshooting to maintain payroll accuracy Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes through automation and reporting enhancements Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred 3-5+ years of payroll administration experience Minimum of 3 years of hands-on Workday Payroll experience in a corporate environment Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll practices including FLSA, FICA, multi-state taxation, and wage/hour compliance Experience processing multi-state payroll strongly preferred Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data validation) Solid understanding of payroll reporting, tax filing, and reconciliation Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication skills and ability to handle confidential information CPP or FPC certification preferred Key Competencies Technical expertise in Workday Payroll functionality Analytical mindset with strong focus on compliance and accuracy Strong cross-functional collaboration skills Proactive problem-solving approach Service-oriented and responsive to employee needs
