Built on a legacy of quality and innovation, we are seeking a Set Up Technician to join our team and support our continued growth. This role will be involved in setting up machines/auxiliary equipment to manufacture plastic parts in the injection molding process in the production of cooler related products to standard and goals. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Hang molds and set up auxiliary equipment to run in a safe, productive, and efficient manner and that production activities are carried out in accordance with approved procedures. Ensure safe working practices are followed and all accidents, hazards, near misses, and property damage are reported in the required time. Set molds in a timely manner as recommended by management. Operate crane to replace molds. Forklift to molds. Remain current on forklift training and certification as required by supervisor, manager, and/or Igloo Safety. Complete paperwork. Primary responsibility for the monitoring and control of assigned process. Primary responsibility for the set-up and bring up to specification of assigned processes. Primary responsibility from the seeking of solutions for technical problems associated with assigned processes. Interface between Methods, Tooling, and Maintenance related to assigned processes. Verification of tooling, instructions, and materials prior to use on assigned processes. Promote Safety and Quality and Environmental awareness. Perform process verification prior to job commencement. Ensure all labor and machine timesheets are completed accurately and submitted as required. Ensure work area(s) are maintained in a clean and organized manner. Ensure that scrap is minimized through process enhancements. Stop the production of non-conforming products as recommended by management. Other duties as assigned. What do we offer? Experience: 6 months of mold-changing and/or processing plastics experience; 6 months experience operating a sit-down gas powered forklift. English language skills: Able to read, write, speak and comprehend English. Math skills: Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Must have own tools. Physical Demands & Conditions (Applicable to Igloo Operators, Technicians, Leaders, and Other Roles in Manufacturing) Standing & Walking Roles may involve extended periods (up to 12 hours) of standing and walking, including moving at a brisk pace and occasional stair climbing. Postural Requirements Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and working in low or awkward positions during production or maintenance tasks. Lifting & Material Handling Operator-level roles may involve lifting up to 25 lb repeatedly throughout the shift. Technician-level roles may involve lifting up to 50 lb multiple times per day, including overhead lifts. Where possible, mechanical aids (e.g., hoists, forklifts) are used. Fine Motor Skills & Tool Use Use of both hands is required to operate tools, perform adjustments, and handle assembly materials with precision. Visual Requirements Sufficient visual acuity (e.g., 20/40 with or without correction) is necessary for tasks involving inspection and safe equipment operation. Environmental Conditions Work is performed in a production setting where seasonal temperatures may range from 100-120°F (with humidity) in summer to cooler conditions in winter. High noise levels are common; hearing protection is provided and required. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as ear protection, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves, and protective clothing may be required depending on the task. Additional Job Considerations These roles can be physically demanding, involving repetitive motions and long hours. Technicians may be required to handle heavy molds and materials; use of material handling equipment is provided and encouraged.
