APRN

An Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) provides primary and specialty healthcare. Like a physician, they assess and diagnose patients, order laboratory tests, prescribe medications, and manage health conditions. APRNs also educate their patients on how to make healthy lifestyle choices. Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct health assessments including recording complete medical and psychosocial history Record symptoms, physically examine patients, and make diagnoses. Develop a treatment plan that may include medication and other therapies. Provide patient education to promote habits that will prevent diseases and maintain good health. Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including physicians and nurses. Order and interpret laboratory test results. Follow up on a patient to determine the effectiveness of recommended treatments. Frequently manages other members of the healthcare team such as RNs and licensed practical nurses. Understands & encourages staff alignment with PCMH guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications / Education / Licenses: Master's degree in nursing required. Active license in state of practice. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred and must be able to read, write and speak English. Excellent leadership, customer service, problem solving, and critical thinking skills. Knowledge of medications, indications, usage, and side effects. Excellent communication skills, including listening, speaking, and interpersonal skills. Ability to feel compassion for patients, their families, and others. Able to always respect and maintain patient confidentiality. Able to work independently. Ability to place accurate prescription orders. Able to follow policies and procedures.
