The Operating Room Manager assumes 24/7 operational responsibility for a complex, high-acuity OR environment. This role oversees daily surgical operations, staffing optimization, labor productivity, and schedule management while ensuring safe, efficient, and evidence-based perioperative care delivery. The Manager partners closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and executive leadership to advance quality metrics, improve throughput, and support strategic growth initiatives. This leader plays a critical role in driving quality improvement efforts, aligning competencies with case complexity, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence reflective of Hoag's award-winning standards. ResponsibilitiesPrimary Duties And Responsibilities The Manager of the Operating Room assumes daily and 24/7 responsibilities of operations of an Operating Room department. This role is responsible for direct and indirect care of the Perioperative patients. Responsible for planning, organizing and directing the service of the Operating Room. Assists in developing and monitoring quality improvement projects. Responsible for daily staff coverage for all operating rooms, labor productivity, and assures competencies are matched to assignments. Responsible for daily review of surgery schedule. Collaborates across departments regarding staffing needs and census management. Active participation in department quality improvement processes. Performs other duties as assigned. QualificationsEducation and Experience Bachelors of Nursing Degree A minimum of five (5) years of recent Operating Room experience in an acute care setting Two (2) years of management experience Masters of Nursing Degree preferred License Required Active, Current Registered Nurse License in California Certifications Required BLS Certification Certifications Preferred CNOR About Us Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian is a nonprofit regional health care delivery network in Orange County, California, consisting of three acute-care hospitals with sixteen urgent care centers, eleven health centers and a network of more than1,800 physicians, 100 allied health members, 8,000 employees, and 2,000 volunteers.
