Position Title: DevOps Engineer Location: Remote (must be local to Raleigh, NC for occasional meetings) Clearance Requirements: None Position Status: Contract Pay Rate: $60/hr W2 Position Description: We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to support a large-scale modernization of on-premises infrastructure in Raleigh, NC. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who thrives in automation-driven environments and enjoys collaborating across development and operations teams. This position is approximately 60% infrastructure automation and 40% development/scripting, with a strong emphasis on PowerShell scripting, CI/CD pipeline engineering, and enterprise systems administration. You will play a key role in modernizing legacy environments, migrating "Classic" pipelines to YAML, upgrading enterprise servers, and contributing to next-generation initiatives including AI infrastructure build-out. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can design solutions, develop implementation roadmaps, and execute complex technical projects independently. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement infrastructure automation solutions using PowerShell and Desired State Configuration (DSC) Administer and modernize Windows Server (2022+) and Ubuntu Linux (24) environments Build, maintain, and migrate Azure DevOps Server (on-premises) CI/CD pipelines from Classic to YAML Develop and support .NET web applications across WebForms, MVC, Razor Pages, and Blazor (Server and WASM) Manage IIS, Active Directory, certificate management, networking, and enterprise security configurations Implement containerization solutions using Docker and Docker Compose Support source control and package management using Git, NuGet, and NPM Configure logging, environment settings, and SQL Server integrations Lead technical initiatives including server upgrades, infrastructure hardening, and deployment automation Create detailed technical documentation, implementation plans, and project timelines Present new technologies and architectural approaches to cross-functional teams Collaborate closely with developers, operations teams, and stakeholders to evaluate and implement scalable solutions Desired Skills: Windows Server 2022+, Windows 11 desktop administration Ubuntu Linux 24 administration Active Directory, IIS configuration, certificate management Networking, machine configuration, and security administration SQL Server database integration PowerShell 7 and Windows PowerShell 5 Desired State Configuration (DSCv1 and DSCv3) Strong scripting and automation engineering experience Azure DevOps Server (On-Premises) Build pipelines, deployment groups/environments CI/CD pipeline engineering (Classic and YAML) Git-based source control workflows .NET / .NET Framework WebForms, MVC, Razor Pages, Blazor (Server & WASM) Configuration management and application logging NuGet and NPM package management Project & Communication Skills: Experience leading multi-week and multi-month technical projects Strong documentation and implementation planning skills Ability to present technical concepts and drive cross-team alignment Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Why This Role Stands Out: High-impact modernization initiative Enterprise-level DevOps transformation work Significant ownership and technical autonomy Opportunity to influence infrastructure strategy and automation standards Collaborative environment that values innovation and continuous improvement About Seneca Resources At Seneca Resources, we are more than just a staffing and consulting firm, we are a trusted career partner.
