GENERAL PURPOSE: The Area Manager is a vital member of the Store Leadership team responsible for overseeing a specific area of the Store and ensuring the smooth operation and supervision of the Store when acting as the Manager on Duty. Responsibilities include opening and closing the Store, supervising Associates, and maintaining a welcoming and easy-to-shop environment. The Area Manager ensures proper merchandise presentation and upholds cleanliness standards at all times while executing and overseeing Company operational processes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Safety & Security: Prioritizes safety first, practicing safe behaviors in all activities. Maintains high awareness on the sales floor to ensure a safe and secure shopping environment. Is responsible for building security, including entrance/exit control, EAS device checks, and overall safety compliance. Addresses any unsafe conditions immediately. Ensures customer safety through accident prevention measures and emergency procedure protocols. Customer Service: Treats all Customers, Associates, and leaders with respect and courtesy at all times. Exemplifies friendliness and professionalism, recognizing Associate achievements through Company programs. Brand Representation: Maintains and represents the Company brand professionally. Ensures compliance with the Company Dress Code both personally and among Associates. Upholds high cleanliness and merchandising standards throughout the Store. Merchandising: Ensures that recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed according to Company standards. Facilitates the receipt and processing of merchandise swiftly and efficiently. Responsible for maintaining organization in all Stockrooms. Executes floor moves and promotional signage as needed. Loss Prevention: Adheres to the Loss Prevention Awareness Program and maintains customer service presence to reduce loss. Safeguards confidential information, cash, and merchandise with integrity. Front End Operations: Implements Company Best Practices at the Front End, ensuring Associates meet efficiency and friendliness standards. Trains and coaches Associates on register operations and policies. Fitting Room Oversight: Maintains cleanliness and organizes Fitting Rooms while ensuring compliance with all garment tag policies. Administrative Duties: Oversees cash handling and payroll administration in alignment with Company policies. Assists the Store Manager with various other administrative tasks as needed. Leads by example. Communicates effectively across all levels. Ensures accountability in execution. QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent verbal communication skills. Proficient in English. Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred. Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment. Able to perform basic math calculations commonly used in retail. Available to work evenings and weekends. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to use Store equipment effectively. Available to spend up to 100% of working hours standing and moving throughout the Store. Able to bend, squat, kneel, and lift as necessary. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Retail Associates and Stockroom Leads (as applicable).
