Senior Engineering Manager - CDN Edge Technologies

As a Senior Engineering Manager for CDN Edge Technologies, you will lead a talented engineering team responsible for the Open Connect edge software stack. Your leadership will be crucial in defining the roadmap for our content delivery systems and ensuring a seamless viewing experience for all Netflix members. Your Impact You will oversee the operations and coordination of Open Connect Appliances (OCAs) deployed globally, ensuring the availability, scalability, and usability of systems that help our partners succeed. Your role will include: Designing and developing robust software and systems to manage and deliver a variety of media assets worldwide. Coordinating the deployment of userland applications for HTTP and DNS to provide exceptional services to users. Implementing new features to meet the evolving needs of our business, particularly for fast, reliable media content delivery. Driving innovation in fast-paced environments, particularly in areas like Live video streaming and Dynamic Ad Insertion. Building and nurturing a high-performing and healthy engineering organization. Fostering collaborative projects across engineering and operations for optimal performance. This role requires forging strong partnerships with senior engineering and operations leaders. We seek a leader with experience in large-scale CDN edge or cloud ingress infrastructure, who can advocate for speed and reliability while ensuring that internal teams benefiting from Open Connect receive exceptional value. Key Qualifications Proven experience in leading teams focused on architecture and development of efficient, reliable content delivery systems. Strong technical knowledge of internet architecture, video streaming, and related technologies. Hands-on experience with the design, implementation, debugging, and operations of large-scale production systems. Exceptional collaboration, communication, and leadership abilities. Our innovative work illustrates our approach; for instance, we employ FreeBSD optimizations to serve 800 Gb/s from a single server and manage content distribution to our Open Connect network.
