Description Job Purpose: This position has responsibility for directing, planning, and leading operations in areas of production, compliance, safety, and maintenance to ensure required business objectives and strategies for multiple plants in the East Region. The East Region consists of over 160 production plants including air separation (N Plant), gas Oxygen (VPSA) and low volume nitrogen (PSA) production units. Scope: This position defines priorities, plans, and objectives for manufacturing operations for multiple plants in B&O East Region Standard Plants. This seasoned individual has expert knowledge of principles and practices within operations, and an understanding of business strategies and culture, and works to achieve results and drive performance on a regional and national basis. The East region is broken up into 3 separate areas: Northeast, Mid-East and Southeast. There is a dedicated Manager for each sub region and additional supervisors. The region has 80+ employees. Responsibilities: Directs a group of employees to execute safety, maintenance and operational requirements including process changes, process improvements, preventative and corrective maintenance, required reporting and compliance related tasks. Creates and manages complex operational plans that result in accomplishment of business objectives. Act as primary interface coordinating and facilitating activities and commitments with other departments, businesses, and/or functions. Collaborates with Commercial and other support groups for contract renewals and new opportunities. Identify and implement actions to support new growth as per established commercialization plans. Collaborates with East Region Bulk Operations and Logistics to align planned outages and react to unplanned outages. Establishes goals, promotes decision-making, delegates as appropriate and overcomes obstacles. Collaborates and coordinates with the East Region in areas of CAPEX & Fixed Cost Spend, resource allocation and specific customer strategies. Works with strategic independence, conferring with Senior and Executive Management on more complex or unusual assignments. Monitors external/internal trends, develops procedures, makes judgments, and takes organization-wide actions that set precedents. Develops, implements, and supports strategic long-term plans for various critical initiatives including CAPEX spend, equipment obsolescence, compliance, training, reliability etc. Staffs, trains, coaches, and administers performance reviews, salary increases and corrective action of subordinate employees. Ensures compliance to all safety policies and procedures, leads operational discipline throughout Linde employee organizations, work closely with SH&E in achieving established goals. Ensures compliance with all local, state, federal, and Linde policies regarding environmental, permitting, and product quality requirements. Identify, implement, and supports productivity and cost reduction projects. Manages and achieves plant critical KPI goals including safety, reliability and compliance. Manages and achieves plant fixed and variable cost goals, develop monthly business report covering financial performance and create action plans to address deficiencies. Works across all levels of Linde organizations to achieve desired results into a cohesive and effective management team. Qualifications Qualifications: Associates degree or equivalent preferred not required. 10+ years operations experience 3+ years of plant management experience preferred not required. Must possess proven leadership, team building, and decision-making skills Must be reliable and efficient focused and possess strong planning and execution skills Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse workforce to achieve desired results Must be able to travel 40% of the time About Linde: Linde is a leading global industrial gases and engineering company with 2024 sales of $33 billion.
