Job Description Join our dynamic team as a Lead Software Engineer where you'll drive the development of innovative software solutions integrating advanced networking technologies. In this pivotal role, you'll establish project objectives and delivery protocols, oversee technical milestones, and support various engineering tasks. You'll serve as the technical lead for projects, coordinating efforts among engineers, guiding project managers, and ensuring alignment with our strategic goals. As a Subject Matter Expert in networking, you'll engage in complex projects involving network operating systems and related infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include translating high-level architectures into detailed software designs, leading multi-module solution development, and ensuring robust support through monitoring and automation systems. Additionally, you'll leverage your expertise for root cause analyses and create scripts that automate intricate tasks at the intersection of software and networking. You'll also lead projects aimed at software automation tailored to network operations, mentoring junior engineers and providing broad technical guidance. Collaborating with vendor engineering and account management teams will be crucial to addressing operational challenges in network operating systems and automation tools. Your role will extend to participating in the development of RFQ/RFPs and championing the adoption of new software tools that enhance our networking hardware. Communication is key, as you will partner closely with product teams to drive technology forward, ensuring we meet both product and service requirements, while evaluating gaps and proposing solutions. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred. At least 8 years of software engineering experience with a focus on networking. Strong expertise in Network Operating Systems (NOS) and background working with networking hardware. Experience in developing software solutions for large enterprises or cloud environments. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, Java, or similar. Knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, TCP/IP) and technologies (e.g., VPN, DNS, DHCP, MPLS). Experience with network automation, scripting, and tools (e.g., Python, Ansible). Familiarity with network modeling and programming (e.g., YANG, Open Config, NETCONF). Experience with software architecture and design, especially in distributed systems and cloud-native contexts. Strong understanding of network security and software development best practices. Experience with CI/CD workflows, version control, and DevOps practices. Knowledge of API development and integration in networking scenarios. Demonstrated ability as a leading individual contributor and mentor to team members. Sound judgment in influencing product direction, features, and priorities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Exceptional organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Responsibilities: As an integral member of our software engineering division, you'll actively shape and enhance our standard practices. You will define and develop software solutions for designing, implementing, and debugging software applications and operating systems. Compensation Package: Salary ranges from $96,800 to $223,400 annually, with eligibility for bonuses and equity options.
