We are seeking talented Research Interns to contribute to our Monetization Ranking & AI Foundations team. This is an exciting opportunity to engage in innovative research focused on delivering personalized advertisements that enhance user experiences and maximize advertiser value. As an intern, you'll collaborate closely with leading researchers and engineers at Meta, gaining access to groundbreaking insights from institutions like FAIR. You'll play a pivotal role in cutting-edge research, aiming for top-tier publications while implementing transformative innovations on a massive scale. Our internships range from twelve to twenty-four weeks, providing multiple start dates throughout the year. Responsibilities: Conduct cutting-edge research to advance the science and technology behind Machine Learning Systems and Infrastructures, particularly in ranking, retrieval, and optimization of distributed training or inference. Innovate scalable machine learning systems and create resource-efficient AI neural network architectures, focusing on enhancing data scalability and optimizing memory, communication, and energy efficiency. Analyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, and stability of deployed algorithms, addressing real-world applications. Collaborate effectively with diverse teams, clearly communicating your research plans, progress, and results. Publish your research findings, making contributions that will advance Meta's product ecosystem. Minimum Qualifications: Pursuing or recently obtained a Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or related fields. Eligible to obtain work authorization in the country of employment upon hiring and maintain it throughout the internship. Proficient in programming languages such as Python, C++, or C. Experience with real systems involving GPUs or NPUs. Hands-on experience in developing systems based on machine learning or deep learning methodologies. Preferred Qualifications: Intention to return to your academic program following completion of the internship. Strong research accomplishments, evidenced by grants, fellowships, patents, or first-authored publications in esteemed conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, or equivalent. Background in software engineering through internships, work experience, coding competitions, or significant contributions to open-source projects on platforms like GitHub. Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills through quantitative approaches. Experience in team-oriented environments, effectively communicating across various functions. Public Compensation: Compensation ranges from $7,650/month to $12,134/month, along with benefits.
