Salary: $27.00 Hourly Location : Auburn Hills Campus Job Type: Part-Time Hourly Job Number: 202300101 Division: Emergency Medical Technology Opening Date: 01/01/2025 Closing Date: Continuous Summary of Purpose Oakland Community College is seeking a pool of qualified candidates with instructional skills to join our team of faculty and administrators to provide high quality programs to our district, community, and most importantly, our students. Teaching assignments may be temporary, part-time, and/or on call and may be immediate or as needed. This posting is not for a specific assignment or a full-time position. Applications to the pool are accepted continuously. When the department has an immediate need, applications will be reviewed based on desired skills. Desired skills for instruction include: Competency in all NREMT practical skills for every level of EMS. Applications will remain on file for up to one year. The pool will be closed and reopened each academic year in the fall. Individuals who seek to remain in the pool must reapply each new academic year. Typical DutiesTeach, instruct, and tutor students in EMT and Paramedic level training, as related to topics and skills. Monitor students' performance to make suggestions/corrections for improvement and to ensure that they satisfy course standards, training requirements, and NREMT curriculum standards. Work individually and with other assistant/lead instructors to review and evaluate individual students and their progress. Assist Para-professional to set up lab stations as assigned. Other duties, as assigned. Knowledge and Skills RequiredAbility to effectively present, teach, and demonstrate skills of the NREMT curriculum at the EMT and Paramedic levels. Ability to organize and run scenarios that reinforce current learning objectives. Ability to facilitate real life simulation scenarios in lab and at CREST. Must function well in an adult learning environment. Minimum Education and ExperienceMinimum of one year's experience as a licensed Paramedic, if education was completed outside of Oakland Community College Paramedic Program. Must have curriculum subject area knowledge/personal experience (This can be through years of service, specialized training, educational opportunities, etc.).
