Description Reporting to the Executive Director Clinical Reimbursement, the Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator is responsible for coordinating resident care through completion of the MDS/RAI process in accordance with state and federal regulations. Oversight of the Restorative Nursing Program for designated unit(s) also required with this position. Assigned duties are implemented in a manner appropriate to the age-specific needs of the patients served. Type of supervision exercised: Team Leader. Jobs reporting to this position: Restorative Nurse Aide EDUCATION: Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Registered Nurse with current PA licensure required. WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two (2) years general nursing experience required. Minimum of two (2) years of long-term care experience required. Minimum of two (2) years utilization review/quality assessment experience required. SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: Current CPR Certification Must have knowledge and experience in completion of the MDS, and related computer skills required for electronic data completion and submission. Must have knowledge of current Federal and State regulatory requirements for Medicare, Medicaid, Federal OBRA and State Department of Health regulatory requirements for long-term care. Must have demonstrated management, leadership and organizational skills. Must have basic ability to utilize computer technology (i.e., personal computer, lap-top, electronic mail, etc. Ability to complete written assessments, write care plans, write other reports, write business correspondence and develop and writer job-specific procedures required Ability to effectively present and orally communicate information, and respond to questions from individuals, groups, residents, family members and the general public required. Must demonstrate the ability to function as a cooperative team member with all disciplines in the facility. Must be willing to be in the facility working with the staff on each shift, if necessary. This includes being available if necessary to the facility on weekends, as well as weekdays as needs arise related to MDS completion. Must have a current acceptable criminal background history permitting employment in a long-term care facility. Must have a pre-employment physical certifying fitness for duty. Must submit to pre-employment and annual Tuberculosis testing and/or screening. Must submit to pre-employment and periodic drug testing as required by facility policy.
