Technical Source is seeking a motivated Automation Engineer with 1–3 years of experience to support a pharmaceutical manufacturing client in Raleigh, NC. This role will focus on PLC programming, troubleshooting, and automation support within a regulated production environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer looking to grow within the life sciences industry while working on critical manufacturing systems. Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day automation support for pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and processes Program, troubleshoot, and modify Allen Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, etc.) Support commissioning, qualification, and validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) Diagnose and resolve controls and instrumentation issues to minimize downtime Collaborate with maintenance, validation, quality, and manufacturing teams Maintain documentation in compliance with GMP and FDA regulations Assist with continuous improvement and system optimization initiatives Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field 1–3 years of hands-on experience with Allen Bradley PLCs in a manufacturing environment Experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or other GMP-regulated industries preferred Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems Understanding of cGMP documentation and validation processes is a plus Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Preferred Experience Experience with batch processes and automated production systems Exposure to commissioning and startup support Knowledge of industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet) Experience working in cleanroom environments Why Join Technical Source?
