Position Overview We are searching for a talented and passionate Sous Chef to support the culinary team at our Silverdale, WA location. In this role, you will work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and the delivery of exceptional food. Your culinary expertise, leadership, and attention to detail-as well as your drive for professional growth-will be essential in upholding our commitment to excellence. Duties and ResponsibilitiesKitchen Management Supervise and coordinate kitchen operations during service hours, ensuring precise and timely food preparation, cooking, and plating. Team Leadership Lead, train, and motivate line cooks, prep cooks, and other culinary team members. Foster a positive, collaborative environment that encourages growth, open communication, and teamwork. Food Quality and Presentation Maintain high standards of quality, taste, and presentation while upholding Elev8's commitment to excellence and authenticity in Mexican cuisine. Inventory and Ordering Assist in monitoring inventory levels and collaborate with the Chef/Executive Chef and FOH management to place timely and accurate orders. Food Safety and Sanitation Ensure full compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. Training and Development Support the training of new kitchen staff and provide ongoing coaching to enhance culinary skills and overall performance. Collaboration Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth communication and cohesive guest service. Regulatory Compliance Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all relevant health and safety regulations to ensure kitchen compliance. Commitment to Growth Actively pursue opportunities for continued professional development. Qualifications and Skills Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef, preferably with experience in Mexican cuisine. Strong knowledge of Mexican culinary traditions, ingredients, and cooking techniques. Proven leadership and team management abilities. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. High attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills for effective coordination with both BOH and FOH teams. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for the duration of the shift (excluding breaks). Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. Strong knife skills and manual dexterity for handling delicate food items. Ability to work in hot, humid, and fast-paced kitchen conditions. Keen senses of taste, smell, and touch for quality control. Good vision for reading recipes, monitoring cooking processes, and assessing presentation standards. Ability to hear and speak clearly to communicate with the kitchen team. Schedule Weekends required. Five-day workweek with two consecutive days off. Flexible scheduling based on operational needs. Typical workdays are 10 hours. Wage and Benefits Annual salary: $76,000 - $78,000 Toll reimbursement for Tacoma Narrows Bridge commuters. Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage. $300 monthly house account for use at any Elev8 Hospitality Group restaurant. Employee discounts across all Elev8 locations. Quarterly profit-share bonus program (up to 10% of annual salary). Two weeks PTO, increasing to three weeks after three years. Paid sick leave separate from PTO.
