Reporting directly to the Chair of the Department of Surgery, the chief will collaborate with the leaders of COM-T and Banner-University Medicine to enhance existing clinical, teaching, and team-based research programs and position the division for continued growth and transformation. Duties & Responsibilities Inspire, develop, and lead an accomplished team of faculty while mentoring trainees and advancing the division's clinical programs. Foster a culture of accountability and demonstrate strong leadership and consensus-building skills across the division and the department. Drive strategic program growth by expanding and strengthening clinical, research, and educational initiatives; enhancing multidisciplinary collaboration; elevating the national reputation of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Arizona and Banner Health; and ensuring excellence in the training of medical students, residents, and fellows. Provide clinical services and mentor trainees at Banner - University Medical Center Tucson and Banner - University Medical Center South. Minimum Qualifications Professor or Associate Professor MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent medical degree. Board-certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
