Position: Summer Camp NurseLocation: The Foote School, 50 Loomis Place, New Haven, CTJob Type: Seasonal, 8:00-3:30pmJob Description:We are seeking a qualified and experienced Nurse to join our team at The Foote School and Horizons at Foote for the upcoming summer season. The Summer Camp Nurse will be responsible for providing first aid and medical care to campers and staff, as well as managing the camp's health center and medications. The Nurse will work closely with the Camp Director and other staff members to ensure the health and safety of all campers.Responsibilities: Provide first aid and medical care to campers and staff as neededConduct health screenings upon campers' arrival and monitor their health throughout their stayManage and administer medications to campers as prescribedKeep accurate and up-to-date medical records for all campers and staffWork closely with the Camp Director and other staff members to implement health and safety protocolsCommunicate with parents and guardians regarding their camper's health and well-beingCollaborate with local healthcare providers and emergency services as neededMaintain a clean and organized health center Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certificationPrevious experience working in a camp or summer camp setting preferredStrong clinical skills and ability to provide quality medical care to children and adolescentsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work well in a team setting and collaborate with othersCurrent CPR and First Aid certificationsKnowledge of common camp-related injuries and illnessesAbility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment This is a seasonal position beginning on June 15 to August 28, 2026, with a two week break from August 3-August 14.
