Provide Friendly Visits to Hospice Patients in Atlanta

VITAS is looking for kind and caring volunteers to visit with terminally ill patients and their families at home or in their senior community. When you make friendly visits, provide a listening ear, and offer the gift of friendship, you can make a real difference in another's life. In yours, too! Take advantage of numerous volunteer opportunities including: Giving a manicure or hand massage Listening to music Doing a jigsaw puzzle or making small crafts together Accompany a patient to the beauty shop, a doctor appointment, or for a walk outside Sitting with a patient while the caregiver takes a (much needed) break VITAS provides free training and orientation for volunteers to help learn the skills required to be an outstanding Hospice Volunteer. Times and dates are ongoing and flexible. Your commitment is completely up to you, whether you decide to spend one day a week or one day a month with your new Hospice Friend.
