Senior Project Engineer Technician, Armtec Defense Technologies Armtec Defense Technologies (Armtec) is an operating unit of the Transdigm Group (NYSE: TDG), an industry leader in aerospace and defense products and services. Armtec is comprised of three business units producing subcomponents for ordnance in Coachella, CA; decoy countermeasure flares in Camden AR; and radar countermeasure chaff in Lillington NC. This position is staffed in Coachella, at Armtec’s world-class, sole-source production facility for felted fiber nitrocellulose combustible cartridge cases for medium and large caliber military ammunition; and pyrophoric payloads for training grenades. Industry: Manufacturing Combustible Ordnance and Countermeasures Job Overview Title: Senior Project Engineer Technician Job Family: Engineering Technicians Reports to: Manager Manufacturing Engineering Works with: mid-level managers and supervisors, employees Location: Coachella, California Type: Full-Time Job Summary Responsible for performing engineering technician tasks, and occasionally handling minor routine engineering tasks; also assists in various phases of minor engineering projects. Primary Responsibilities Under the supervision or guidance of an engineer: assists in the development of engineering plans and designs for particular field for a specific area, assists in the investigation and analysis of new materials, equipment invoices, and engineering practices. Also under guidance or supervision: prepares or assists in preparing engineering computations, estimates, surveys, statistics and minor designs. Performs or assists with equipment and material test studies. Assists in equipment troubleshooting, analysis, repairs, installations and inspection Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above Understand and live by Armtec’s ethics and business conduct policies Assists in the development of procedures for the operation, maintenance, repair, inspections, and tests of tooling, equipment, and process changes. Performs other related duties as required. Assists in analyzing quotations and bids and developing recommendations. Analyzes costs for work projects. Qualifications Associates degree in Engineering/Technical discipline. Minimum of two years directly related work experience. Familiar with CAD, spreadsheet and word processor software. Must be dependable, responsible, and accurate and have the ability to deal with people effectively. Education & Professional Work Experience Requirements Must be authorized to work in the U.S. To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorization from the U.S. Government Work Hours 3/12 workweek - Friday - Sunday from 1pm - 1am (plus overtime). 4th shift qualified for shift premium.
