Job Description

RK&K's Project Controls and Construction Management Division is seeking a dedicated Project Controls Manager to lead and oversee various project support initiatives in transportation infrastructure development and construction. The role will involve assignments on exciting mega-projects, supported on a full-time or part-time basis. Essential Functions Develop and maintain comprehensive project controls plans and procedures for large-scale programs. Draft and enhance project management processes to optimize efficiency. Act as the management and administrative lead for Consultant staff resourcing. Coordinate and guide Subject Matter Experts (SME) to provide support for critical project controls functions, including: Scheduling: Implement and maintain cost-loaded master program schedules, primarily using Primavera P6. Cost Management: Oversee budgets, monitor costs, prepare financial forecasts, and devise cost management strategies. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and opportunities effectively. Reporting: Deliver accurate and timely progress updates, cost reports, and risk registers to stakeholders. Manage cost controls, change management, risk management, earned value, and scheduling initiatives. Collaborate with project managers, estimators, finance, designers, and engineers to achieve successful project outcomes. Coordinate activities and inputs with engineering, construction, and procurement teams. Review and audit cost, progress, and schedule reports regularly. Establish milestones, develop performance dashboards, and monitor overall project progress, implementing corrective actions as necessary. Track the contract task schedule and budgets to ensure alignment with project goals. Required Experience and Skills Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in Project Controls within transportation infrastructure development and construction. At least three (3) years of leadership experience. Strong understanding of project controls and project management principles. Analytical and strategic with a hands-on leadership approach. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated knowledge of public policy and business practices related to transportation. Proven ability to manage, coordinate, and oversee multiple project support efforts effectively. Preferred Experience and Skills Experience with Federal Funding (FTA, FRA, FHWA, etc.). Proficiency in relevant software (Primavera P6, HeavyBid, TILOS, etc.). Knowledge of Power BI.
