Extended School Year LPN JobID: 3629 Position Type:School Nurse/Health Office/ School LPN Date Posted:1/30/2026 Location:District Wide Date Available:07/06/2026 Closing Date:05/30/2026 WEBSTER CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICTOpen PositionPosition: Extended School Year LPN (Posting number 2627-3629)Location: District WideStart Date: July 6 – August 14Position Summary:The ESY LPN is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a summer school program.Supervisor:The ESY Nurse is directly responsible to the Nurse Coordinator.Qualifications: Holds a current license and registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse granted by New York State Education Department. Holds current certification in CPR-AED for Healthcare Professionals (adult and child). Demonstrates broad knowledge in the use of health related issues in young adults. Practices within the framework of casefinding, health teaching, health counseling and provision of supportive and restorative care, under the direction of the Nurse Coordinator. Refers to the RN for matters outside the LPN scope of practice. Demonstrates proficiency in computer skills including but not limited to electronic medical records, email use, word processing and spreadsheet use and development in Microsoft and Google formats. Communicates and works well with students, teachers, parents, administrators and others in the community. Physical Condition commensurate with the demands of the position including but not limited to: Sitting at a desk and typing Pushing a wheelchair Lifting students/supplies up to 50 pounds Running or quickly walking to emergencies throughout the buildings and/or outside grounds Essential Responsibilities: Successfully carries out the medical orders and procedures prescribed by the healthcare provider as well as individual Health Plans written by the RN. Clarifies questions related to those orders as they arise. Promotes safety and protects the optimal health status of children. Evaluates student injury/illness concerns and documents such events. Follows established system for medication administration and documentation. Evaluates response to medication and alerts parents/healthcare provider as appropriate. Prepares medication for off-site field trips per district protocol.
