Job DescriptionASSISTANT F&B MANAGERSJOB TITLE: ASSISTANT F&B MANAGERDEPARTMENT: FOOD & BEVERAGEREPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF RESTAURANTSFLSA STATUS: EXEMPTSALARY RANGE: $75k PER YEAREFFECTIVE DATE: 2/10/2025 The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager is a leader with strong operational knowledge, problem-solving, and a passion for delivering outstanding service. The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager supports the Director of Restaurants in overseeing daily restaurant and bar operations to ensure exceptional service, quality, and efficiency. This role assists in supervising F&B staff, monitoring dining experiences, managing inventory and costs, and upholding health and safety standards. The Assistant F&B Manager collaborates with kitchen staff, servers, and event teams to maintain seamless service and guest satisfaction. By delivering impeccable service, the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager will uphold La Bahia Hotel & Spa's service standards (inspired by Forbes) while elevating our beachfront property. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITY: Assisting in Managing Day-to-Day Operations. Provides services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention. Serves as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors. Manages day-to-day operations, ensuring the quality and standards and meeting the expectations of the customers on a daily basis. Takes proactive approaches when dealing with guest concerns. Sets a positive example for guest relations. Stays readily available/ approachable for all guests. Reviews, comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees. Responds in a timely manner to customer service department request. Assists in the ordering of F&B supplies, cleaning supplies and uniforms. Supervises daily F&B shift operation and ensures compliance with all F&B policies, standards and procedures. Supports and supervises an effective monthly self-inspection program. Operates all department equipment as necessary and reports malfunction. Supervises staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives are met. Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members. Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work. Celebrates and fosters decisions that result in successes as well as failures. Communicates areas that need attention to staff and follows up to ensure understanding. Coordinates cleaning program in all F&B areas (including General clean), identifying trends and making recommendations for improvements. Follows property specific second effort and recovery plan. Stays readily available/ approachable for all team members. Demonstrates knowledge of the brand specific service culture. Provides information to supervisors and co-workers by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Perform hourly job function if necessary. Extends professionalism and courtesy to team members at all times. Comprehends budgets, operating statements and payroll progress report. Perform opening and closing duties as assigned. Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and leadership within the scope of the role. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. (2/3) years or more minimum experience in F&B supervisory role in a luxury hotel and/or resort overseeing multiple departments. Luxury resort experience preferred. Hotel opening experience a plus. Dynamic and entrepreneurial - able to lead a team to success by leading by example. Knowledge of local and state laws and regulations as relates to the rooms department. Knowledge of luxury service standards (Forbes 5 Star, AAA 5 Diamond). Strong leadership skills; a natural motivator Strong management reporting skills. Strong business acumen.
