This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Columbia Area Mental Health Center, Adult Clinic Services located at 2715 Colonial Drive, Columbia, SC, 29203, CAMHC #351. As the Registered Nurse, working under general supervision, you will provide direct patient care/direct psychiatric care/nursing services to patients who are members of Columbia Area Mental Health Center. Provide nursing services for a defined target group requiring psychiatric nursing services in a community mental health setting. Responsibilities for the Registered Nurse, Non-Institutional: Provide an array of face-to-face or telephonic interventions/nursing services to a diverse population of patients served at Columbia Area Mental Health Center (CAMHC) to promote recovery, stabilization and independence which includes, but not limited to, injection medication administration, medication monitoring/assessments, health teaching/training and providing laboratory services. Manage a MMO caseload of 50+ patients, as well as other assigned patients, while maintaining a collaborative working relationship with supervisor, clinical and administrative staff. Collect, organize, and record data and information in the patient's medical record in accordance with applicable Quality Assurance standards, CARF guidelines and Corporate Compliance standards. Promptly perform lab tests/procedures ordered by Physician/Nurse Practitioner (NP). Screening for pre-existing medical problems, etc. and ensure that the Physician/NP receive all findings in a timely manner. Highlight any abnormal results and immediately report the value to the appropriate Physician/NP. Regularly attend and participate in treatment team meetings, supervisory meetings, nursing in-service and serves on Center and OMH committees as assigned. Comply with the Office of Mental Health Compliance Plan and all legal responsibilities and requirements. Minimum and Additional RequirementsGraduation from an accredited school of nursing. Licensed as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing. Additional Requirements A bachelor's degree in nursing and two (2) years' experience; or a three (3) year diploma and two (2) years' experience; or an associate degree in nursing and two (2) years' experience as a registered nurse, one (1) of which must have been in a community health program. Two (2) years' experience working with persons with serious and persistent mental illness. Preferred QualificationsBilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus. Additional Comments Post hire, employees must: Be able to pass CPR, First -Aid and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification. Possess and demonstrate the ability to empathize, communicate and accept patient's disabilities in a non-judgmental manner. Maintain valid nursing license with S.C. Board of Nursing.
