Summary This position is located at: Outdoor recreation Parks and Picnic areas - Fort Riley, Kansas. DFMWR provides family support activities and services; social, fitness and recreational activities that enhance community life, fosters Soldier and unit readiness and promotes mental and physical fitness; and wellness programs that directly support readiness and resiliency. This is an open continuous announcement. All qualified applicants will be forwarded to management on a weekly or as needed basis. Duties Help Operate large, complex riding lawn mower (e.g., multiple and independently controlled cutting decks) and/or specially designed riding mowers to mow in areas requiring attention to space and environment. Performs tasks that require significant manual skill, very heavy physical effort, several steps, phases, and detailed procedures (e.g., preparing ground for sod, flowers and shrubs) following specifications on project requirements. Operates equipment such as zero turn mowers, chainsaws, tractor and skid steer as well as small hand tools and shop tools. Adjusts, cleans, oils and changes attachments on machines. Uses chemicals and cleaning solutions. Maintains stock of cleaning materials and implements used. Notifies supervisor when additional materials are needed. Performs other duties as assigned. A one year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation. Must be willing to work days, nights, weekends and holidays. Must have a valid Driver's license. Must be able to complete a pre-employment physical exam. Incentives and BonusesIncentives will not be paid. Allowances and DifferentialsThis job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
