Snapshot / Role Overview We're seeking a Commercial Chiller Service Technician in Kent, WA to service and maintain large tonnage chillers for commercial and industrial facilities in the Seattle metro area. Impact • Maintain critical cooling systems that protect server rooms, manufacturing processes, and building comfort • Minimize downtime through expert diagnostics and proactive maintenance of centrifugal, screw, and scroll chillers • Optimize chiller performance and reduce energy consumption through precision tuning and water treatment management • Extend equipment life and reduce replacement costs by conducting thorough preventive maintenance • Support client operations by delivering responsive service and technical expertise Responsibilities • Perform preventive maintenance on large tonnage chillers including York, Trane, Carrier, and McQuay units • Troubleshoot and repair chiller failures involving compressors, motors, starter panels, and control systems • Conduct oil analysis, refrigerant leak testing, and vibration analysis to detect early equipment issues • Manage water treatment programs and inspect heat exchangers for scaling and corrosion • Respond to emergency service calls to restore cooling operations for mission-critical facilities • Inspect and test safety devices including pressure relief valves, low-pressure cutouts, and motor overloads • Document service activities and provide clients with detailed reports and recommendations • Coordinate major overhauls and compressor rebuilds with operations teams • Train junior technicians on chiller operations and troubleshooting procedures Requirements Must-Haves • 5+ years of commercial chiller service experience with centrifugal, screw, or reciprocating chillers • EPA Universal refrigerant certification • Strong knowledge of chiller operations, controls, and refrigerant circuits • Valid Washington driver's license with clean record • Ability to read and interpret electrical and refrigeration schematics Nice-to-Haves • OEM factory training from York, Trane, Carrier, or Johnson Controls • Experience with magnetic bearing chillers and VFD troubleshooting • Knowledge of building automation systems and BACnet protocols • OSHA 30 and confined space certifications Compensation & Logistics Competitive salary depending on experience; benefits include medical and dental coverage, 401(k) with employer match, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, company vehicle, specialized tools, and advanced training opportunities.
