Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 03/23/2026 Duration: 26 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Inpatient Location: Burlington, VT Duration: 26 weeks (assignment range 16–32 weeks) Shift: Night – 3x12-Hour (19:00–07:30); weekends as needed; no call; schedule flexibility required; no block scheduling Job Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive respiratory care in ICU/Adult Critical Care, PICU/Pediatric Care, and NICU Level III settings Perform airway management including intubation assist, extubation, suctioning (ETT, NT), tracheostomy care/management, nasal/oral airway placement and suctioning, sputum specimen collection Manage and monitor patients requiring oxygen therapy and mechanical ventilation Operate and troubleshoot ventilators including IMV, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), flow-by, and weaning from mechanical ventilation Respond to high-pressure ventilator alarms and provide ventilator management Assist with bronchoscopy (preferred) Provide care for patients with ARDS, aspiration, COVID, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, fresh tracheostomy Administer respiratory medications including Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, inhaled steroids, inhaled Flolan, Lidocaine, Mucomyst, Nitric Oxide (INo), Pulmicort, Racemic Epinephrine, Spiriva, Tobramycin, Xopenex Set up and manage medication delivery systems including aerosol mask/trach setup, MDI, Medihaler, nebulizer (cold, hand-held, ultrasonic), T-piece, trach collar Perform arterial punctures and pulmonary function-related procedures Provide care for infant/child patients with RSV and transient tachypnea of the newborn Follow RT-driven protocols in high-acuity environments Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR (within the past 2 years required) Float as needed within scope to adult and pediatric critical care areas Required Qualifications: RRT credential (CRT not accepted) Minimum 1–2 years of experience (at least 1 year required) ICU/Adult Critical Care, PICU, and NICU Level III experience required Teaching hospital experience required Trauma Level I experience required Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years (non-negotiable) Travel experience required (no first-time travelers) BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications required (NRP required upon submission) COVID-19 vaccination required (no exemptions) Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only) All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained Complete and detailed work history required (bed count, EMR, facility type, specialties, NICU level, etc.) Reliable transportation required (public transportation not accessible; vehicle with all-season/snow tires recommended November–April) About HonorVet Technologies HonorVet Technologies: Pioneering Purpose, Empowering Heroes Founded in 2015, HonorVet Technologies stands as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), proudly certified by NaVOBA and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
