A3 Technology, Inc. is excited to invite applications for the position of Field Technician for Telecommunications Systems. In this role, you will play a critical part in the hands-on technical execution and verification support for the brand-new FAA Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) Small Voice Switch Replacement (S-VCS) initiative. You'll be actively involved in post-site survey activities, ensuring installation readiness, performing technical verification and testing, and decommissioning legacy Voice Communication Systems (VCS) at FAA facilities nationwide. This position demands advanced expertise in electronics systems, structured cabling, and power verification, with a focus on field execution in operational FAA environments. You will work closely with Program Management, Engineering Services, Technical Operations, vendors, and site personnel to ensure adherence to FAA standards while maintaining the safety and efficiency of air traffic operations. Key Responsibilities: Technical Installation Readiness & Verification: Conduct independent verification of power, grounding, and interconnect cabling to ensure compliance with approved designs and specifications. Validate wiring accuracy and continuity in preparation for S-VCS equipment setup and activation. Document test results and updates in program repositories to ensure readiness for FAA acceptance. Post-Site Survey & Field Execution Support: Validate post-site survey findings and assist in remediation planning to ensure sites are ready for installation. Coordinate on-site activities with key personnel, engineers, Air Traffic staff, and vendors. Provide oversight during vendor installations to ensure adherence to FAA standards. Legacy VCS Decommissioning & Disposition Support: Assist in the removal of decommissioned legacy VCS equipment per FAA procedures. Help with packing and preparing equipment for transfer, reuse, or compliant disposal. Verify equipment inventories and assist with necessary documentation for disposition. Safety, Security & Compliance: Conduct all work in accordance with FAA safety and site-specific access requirements. Ensure minimal operational impact during work and comply with environmental requirements. Maintain accurate records of work performed and corrective actions implemented. Reporting & Documentation: Provide timely inputs to site execution reports and documentation. Support preparation of deliverables requiring technical verification and coordination records. Skills Required: Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Telecommunications, or related field (or equivalent military/field experience). Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience as an electronics technician in communications or mission-critical systems. Experience in power, cabling, and interconnect verification in operational settings. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and wiring diagrams. Strong troubleshooting skills with an emphasis on safety-critical environments. Proficiency in using test equipment such as multimeters and cable testers. U.S. Citizenship and eligibility to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Preferred Skills: Experience in FAA, DoD, or critical infrastructure programs. Familiarity with Voice Communication Systems (VCS) or VoIP communications. Experience in system cutovers, decommissioning, or legacy system disposition. OSHA safety training or similar field safety certifications. Work Environment & Travel: This position requires frequent travel to FAA facilities across the National Airspace System for surveys, remediation, installation readiness, and execution of disposition activities. Work will be primarily conducted on-site at FAA facilities. US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US is required. Candidates will undergo a Government investigation and must meet Federal clearance eligibility requirements. The salary range for this position is $50,000 to $175,000, based on various factors including experience, education, and location.
