The Home Health Nursing Internship is an exciting summer opportunity designed for nursing students to gain invaluable hands-on experience in a community-based home care setting. As an intern, you'll work closely with experienced registered nurses, providing essential patient care like measuring vital signs, conducting physical assessments, managing wounds, and offering Foley catheter care. This internship is tailored to enhance your clinical skills, foster meaningful communication, and give you insight into patient care beyond traditional hospital environments. We invite applications for our internship program available at multiple branch locations including Beverly Hills, FL; Crestview, FL; Pensacola, FL; Viera, FL; Columbus, GA; Kannapolis, NC; Kinston, NC; Lillington, NC; Lumberton, NC; Pollocksville, NC; Charleston, SC; and Columbia, SC. Your Responsibilities Include: Assisting Registered Nurses in delivering direct patient care in home settings. Conducting patient assessments and accurately documenting your findings. Participating in care planning and implementation under RN supervision. Practicing effective and empathetic communication with patients and their families. Adhering to all clinical protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Maintaining patient confidentiality and displaying professional conduct at all times. Engaging in educational activities and team meetings within the branch and the Chief Nursing Office. Make a meaningful impact with your skills! Required Qualifications: Currently enrolled in an accredited LPN, ADN, or BSN program, with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and Summer 2027. Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) from June 1 to July 24. A valid driver’s license for traveling to the branch and/or patient homes is necessary, as interns will accompany preceptors on home visits. Completion of at least one clinical rotation in an acute care setting or relevant experience in home health, hospice, or community-based care. Active Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association for the entire duration of the internship. No requirement for sponsorship to work in the United States now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications: A strong academic history with a nursing GPA of 2.5 or higher. A proven commitment to patient-centered care and a strong interest in home health care. Excellent organizational, prioritization, and critical thinking skills. Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication abilities. What You Can Expect During Your 8-Week Internship: Comprehensive onboarding and orientation during the first week. Hands-on, supervised care experience in home settings with seasoned home health nurses. Interdisciplinary care team shadowing experiences. Facilitated virtual group meetups with other home health nursing interns across the U.S. Opportunities to connect and interact with home health and organizational leaders. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week Compensation: The pay range reflects a good faith estimate for full-time (40 hours/week) employment at the time of posting: $37,440 - $43,800 per year. Individual compensation may vary based on geographic location and job-related skills, knowledge, experience, education, and certifications.
